Description
The grafting of the vine in the Valleys probably took place in 1528, when Ercole II Duca d'Este married Renata of France, daughter of Louis XII, who brought as a dowry a vine of the Côte d'Or of Burgundy, the Golden Grape precisely, that it found the perfect habitat in the areas of the Sandy Dunes of the Delta and in the Dossi of the Bosco Eliceo to reproduce at its best, among the holm oaks and delta bushes. The particularly humid, foggy and static environment, the strongly brackish air and soil, the constant proximity of the sea and the lack of fresh water contribute, over the centuries, to the formation of a grape with a very strong character.
