These old mixed vines produced an average yield of just 310g per vine – meaning three vines were needed to produce one bottle of this Vintage Port, when typically, it requires just one vine. Vintage Port

Warre’s 2011 shows the deep opaque purple colour of youth and is layered with aromas of sweet blackberry fruit and typically perfumed floral hints of rockrose and fresh violets. On the palate the wine has great finesse and balance, with traces of minerality running through the silky tannic backbone, leading to a long velvety finish.

Heavy rains at the start of the year, were able to support the vines through the dry spring and very hot summer. The grapes achieved perfect ripeness with high levels of sugar. This wine is very aromatic with black cherry, plum, dark chocolate and suede notes. A very silky texture with rich chocolate flavours, licorice, cloves, and lots of plum. The tannins are soft and integrated and there is a very long, delicious finish. Definitely a beauty!
