Graham's Port
Graham’s, one of the most outstanding producers of vintage port, owns five separate mountainous vineyards, located in different parts of the Douro region – each with the maximum ‘A’ grade classification. They have left as much of the original wild plant life undisturbed as possible, preserving biodiversity to contribute to unique and powerfully expressive wines reflective of the terroir. Graham's wines are renowned for remarkable richness, concentration and firm tannic structure which combine to give brilliant longevity. The House style is known by its intense floral notes, opulent berry fruit flavours and flair.
The story of Graham’s is that of two families, across three centuries. Founded in 1820 by two brothers, William and John Graham, the company was one of the first to invest in its own vineyards in the Douro Valley, and remains a pioneer innovating new techniques in winemaking to this day. Today, since their acquisition by Symington Family Estates, five Symington cousins share responsibility for the company. The Symington family has also been involved with Port for generations. Nearly a century after their ancestor AJ Symington left the employ of Graham’s to strike out on his own, the family came full circle to return to the company.
Graham’s only produce Vintage ports in the very best years, creating superb long-lived quality, but on undeclared years produce their famous Single Quinta ports from the Quinta dos Malvedos.

Vintage Port In neck | good label | chipped capsule
Wine Legends by Decanter magazine: Graham’s Vintage Port 1945.
Tasting Notes
Graham's 1945 is consistently, in my experience, the best of that magnificent vintage. ... The 1945 was fully mature, amber rim, pungent yet fragrant, still sweet, fabulous flavour and interminable length. An appropriate, much appreciated five-star Port. Score: 5 Stars

Graham's Port, 1942
Vintage Port, DOC Douro In neck, badly chipped capsule, unlabelled
Declared by some shippers, despite the war, and in some cases declared and bottled in 1945 to celebrate Victory. First Vintage to be bottled exclusively in Portugal, rather than shipped in cask as was customary.
Little known, and production was small due to continued post-war restrictions, but well-cellared wines are still a pleasure.

Graham's Port, 1882
Ne Oublie, DOC Douro
The Symington family has released 656 bottles of a Port that dates back to the arrival of their great-grandfather Andrew James Symington in Portugal in 1882.
The family have named this wine ‘Ne Oublie’ after the original Graham’s family motto and for the company where Andrew Symington started his life’s work. The name reflects the respect with which the family regard their great-grandparents’ joint decision to commit themselves and their descendants to Portugal, to the Douro and to Port.
Now 130 years later his direct descendants have bottled one of the remaining three barrels. The other two barrels have been entrusted to the next generation of the family and it is they who will decide their future, in 2025 at the earliest. …

Graham's Port, 1980
Vintage Port
Purple fading to red and finally pink at the rim. Rich blackberries on the nose along with very faint stewed strawberries. The tannins were powerful on Christmas day but mellowed some by the next evening. The blackberries carried through as a prominent flavor, but added a sourish note almost like a sour cherry. The finish starts out with a rich butter cookie note, but then quickly switches to grape stem.
