Description
Massolino, 2021 Barbaresco “Albesani”
A beautifully poised Barbaresco from one of Piedmont’s most respected estates, the 2021 “Albesani” captures Nebbiolo at its most refined and expressive.
The nose is immediately inviting, offering wild strawberry, red cherry and redcurrant, layered with classic Nebbiolo notes of dried rose petal, subtle tar, sweet spice and fresh herbs. On the palate, the wine is silky yet structured, with vibrant acidity carrying flavours of ripe red fruits, orange peel and gentle earthy nuances. Fine, polished tannins give shape and length, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish that is both elegant and persistent.
This is a Barbaresco of precision and balance, combining aromatic lift with depth and finesse.
Food Pairing
An excellent match for braised beef or lamb, porcini and truffle dishes, rich pasta sauces, and aged Italian cheeses. Ideal for refined, savoury cuisine.
Serving & Cellaring
Serve at 16–18°C. Decant for 45–60 minutes before drinking. Drinking beautifully now, with the structure to cellar confidently for 10–15 years.
Why We Love It
Massolino’s “Albesani” delivers everything we look for in great Barbaresco — elegance, purity and quiet power. A superb choice for Nebbiolo lovers seeking finesse over force.
