  • Description

Crafted exclusively in exceptional vintages, the 2016 Barolo Riserva "Rüncot" is a remarkable wine from the esteemed Piedmontese producer Elio Grasso. The wine stands as a testament to the winery's commitment to excellence, capturing the essence of the Barolo region in a wine of unparalleled elegance and power.

    Tasting Notes:
This wine presents a deep garnet hue, indicative of its richness and depth. On the nose, it offers an intense and complex bouquet, featuring ripe dark cherry and plum aromas intertwined with notes of menthol, lavender, licorice, and mocha. The palate is equally impressive, delivering extraordinary richness and intensity without heaviness. Flavours of dark cherry and plum dominate, complemented by subtle hints of menthol and mocha. The wine's structure is supported by refined tannins and a lingering, elegant finish. Notably, despite aging for four years in 100% new oak, there is no overt presence of wood, showcasing a harmonious integration.

    Serving & Food Pairing:
To fully appreciate its complexity, decant the wine for at least an hour before serving at a temperature of 16-18°C. This Barolo pairs exceptionally well with rich dishes such as braised meats, game, and mature cheeses. With proper cellaring, it promises to evolve beautifully over the next several decades.
