    A rare gem from the storied cellars of Blandy’s, the 1975 Sercial is a testament to the timeless elegance of Madeira. With five decades of slow ageing behind it, this dry style delivers remarkable complexity, precision, and poise—perfect for those who appreciate finesse over opulence.

    Tasting Notes:
    Bright amber in colour with a green-tinged rim. Lifted aromas of orange peel, toasted almonds, and sea spray. Crisp, nervy acidity drives a dry, saline palate. Hints of caramel, dried citrus, and smoky minerality linger. A refined, complex Madeira with a long, elegant finish.

    Serving Suggestions:
    It is recommended to pull the cork at least 2 day before enjoying this wine. Decanting will help remove any deposit that may have occurred in bottle over time. Serve slightly chilled (12–14°C) as an aperitif or with savoury starters. Pairs well with aged cheeses, smoked fish, or umami-rich dishes but also lovely with citrus desserts or enjoyed on its own. Once opened, a Madeira wine should keep for many months without deteriorating.

    This wine should be stored upright in a dark room with constant temperature, ideally no higher than 16ºC.

    'The 1975 Sercial, which was bottled in October 2015, has a mellow bouquet with hints of toffee apple, sea spray and hazelnut. It is very focused and refined, nothing too showy here. The palate is fresh and citric on the entry: sour lemon mingling with dried honey, orange zest, walnut and a touch of tobacco. There is appreciable weight in the mouth, refreshing as Sercial can often be, with a focused, marine-influenced finish. This is a refined, almost understated Sercial, as much cerebral as sensual.'
