Description
Carruades is the second label wine produced by Chateau Lafite-Rothschild.
After fermentation and maceration, the wines are tasted, selected and put together according to their different qualities. This step is very important because this is where we make the difference between the great "Lafite" and the second wine "Carruades de Lafite". The wines are drained off into oak barrels. We use 100% new barrels for the ageing of Lafite. The year after, these same barrels will be used for the Carruades.
Carruades de Château Lafite is the celebrated second wine of the iconic Château Lafite Rothschild, situated in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France. Crafted with the same meticulous care and attention to detail as its esteemed counterpart, Carruades embodies the essence of Lafite's prestigious terroir while offering approachability in its youth. Primarily composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot sourced from the estate's finest parcels, Carruades showcases a harmonious balance of fruit, structure, and finesse. With its silky texture, refined tannins, and complex aromatics, Carruades de Château Lafite exemplifies the allure and sophistication that have made Lafite one of the world's most revered wine estates.

Purple red. Intense. Dark. Pretty. Net. Intense. Very fruity with a warm note. Net. Intense. Fruits in syrup and licorice. Soft attack developing on a structure a little soft very fruity and fleshy. Tannic evolution rather concentrated and tasty that leaves a tasty finish, fresh and well balanced on a complex note of violet and wood. Fine tannins. Fine and long wine with pure aromatic expression.
