Description

The 1991 vintage in the Southern Rhône was cooler and wetter than the superb 1989 and 1990 seasons. While yields were reduced, careful growers produced lighter, more elegant wines that have aged into gentle, savoury examples of classic Châteauneuf.

This 1991 Font de Michelle shows a mature garnet colour with brick highlights. The bouquet carries notes of dried cherry, leather, earthy garrigue herbs, and a touch of spice. On the palate it is medium-bodied, supple, and mellow, with flavours of stewed plum, tobacco, and soft forest floor complexity. The finish is smooth and savoury, highlighting finesse and maturity over power.
