Château Clerc Milon, 2017
Pauillac – Fifth Growth (5ème Grand Cru Classé), Bordeaux

The 2017 vintage in Bordeaux was marked by challenging spring frosts across parts of the region, yet many of the leading estates in Pauillac were largely spared and went on to produce wines of impressive balance and finesse. Careful vineyard management and a favourable late season allowed Cabernet Sauvignon to ripen well, resulting in elegant, structured wines with good ageing potential.

Château Clerc Milon 2017 displays the classic character of Pauillac. The nose opens with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and dark cherry, complemented by notes of cedar, graphite and subtle spice. On the palate the wine is medium to full-bodied, with refined tannins framing flavours of ripe dark fruit, cocoa and hints of tobacco.

Still youthful, the wine shows excellent balance between fruit, structure and freshness. With further bottle age it will continue to develop the complexity typical of mature Pauillac, while already offering attractive accessibility.

A fine choice for celebrating a 2017 birthday or anniversary, and an excellent partner to roast lamb, grilled beef or rich game dishes. Decant before serving to allow the wine to fully express its character.
