Description

The excellent 1997 Château Lagrange is one of St. Juliens great wines - powerful, full-bodied and concentrated. The 1997 Lagrange introduces ripe fruit aromas of rich black currant and cherry, spicy, toasty new oak, minerals, cedar and charcoal. They are also very reasonably priced for their level of quality, and dependably.

Château Lagrange, located in the Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux, France, is esteemed for its longstanding tradition of producing exceptional red wines. With a history dating back to the 18th century, the estate's vineyards span approximately 118 hectares, predominantly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot grapes. Benefitting from gravelly and clay-limestone soils, Château Lagrange crafts wines that epitomize the elegance and complexity of Saint-Julien terroir. Known for their depth, structure, and aging potential, the estate's wines exhibit ripe fruit flavors, refined tannins, and a distinct Saint-Julien character. Classified as a Third Growth (Troisième Cru) in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, Château Lagrange continues to maintain its reputation for excellence.
