Description
The 'Dona Antónia' 10-Year-Old Tawny Port is produced by the renowned port house Ferreira, which has a long history dating back to 1751. The Donna Antonia line is named in honor of Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, a legendary figure in the history of Portuguese wine, particularly for her contributions to the Douro Valley and the port industry.
Tasting notes
Pale brick red in colour. On the nose, mellow red fruit aromas are married with notes of roasted nuts, marmalade and caramel. On the palate, a vibrant acidity perfectly balances the sweetness and carries the rich flavours onto the smooth finish.
Serving & Food Pairing:
Tawny Ports are ready-to drink and do not require decanting. Best enjoyed slightly chilled at 12-13ºC they will work wonders if pairing with treacle tart, crème brulee or nut based desserts, like hazelnut praline.
Ferreira, a historic Port wine producer in Portugal's Douro Valley, has a rich history dating back to 1751. Known for its deep, complex, and long-lasting wines. The company's vineyards are located in the heart of the Douro Valley, where the rugged terrain and diverse microclimates create optimal conditions for growing high-quality grapes. Ferreira is particularly renowned for its Tawny Ports, which undergo extended aging in oak barrels, allowing the wines to develop a unique bouquet of aromas and flavors. Today, part of the Sogrape group, Ferreira remains a leading name in the world of Port wine.
How to store your Tawny Port:
The bottle should be kept upright and protected from direct sunlight and heat.
