Description
1982 Graham’s Single Harvest Tawny Port – Colheita Port
Bottled in 2013, commemorative bottling to celebrate the birth of HRH Prince George of Cambridge
A magnificent, mature Colheita Tawny Port from one of the Douro Valley’s most iconic Port houses. Graham’s, founded in 1820, is celebrated for its rich, opulent style and long-lived fortified wines, and this 1982 Single Harvest Port — drawn from a single exceptional vintage and aged for over 40 years in seasoned oak — perfectly captures the house’s trademark depth and elegance.
In the glass, it shows a deep amber hue with golden reflections, the hallmark of long cask ageing. The nose is beautifully evolved, offering a tapestry of caramelised orange peel, walnut, fig, and toffee, lifted by delicate notes of cinnamon, dried apricot, vanilla, and polished wood.
The palate is silky, rich, and perfectly balanced, combining sweetness with freshness and refinement. Layers of molasses, roasted nuts, and candied fruit unfold slowly, supported by a gentle acidity that gives the wine lift and precision. The finish is endless, with lingering tones of hazelnut, honey, and warm spice. This is Port at its most graceful — the essence of time in a glass.
Serving Suggestions
Serve lightly chilled (12–14 °C) to accentuate its complexity and freshness. Decant carefully if a fine sediment is present.
Perfect with crème brûlée, tarte tatin, or walnut cake. Sublime alongside blue cheeses (Stilton, Gorgonzola) or aged hard cheeses like Comté. For a simple yet indulgent pairing, enjoy with roasted nuts, dark chocolate truffles, or even foie gras.
Once opened, this Port will keep beautifully for several months if re-corked and stored in a cool, dark place.
