  • Description

This 1968 Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Speciale exhibits the elegance and complexity of a well-aged Tuscan classic. The bouquet reveals aromas of dried cherry, plum, leather, tobacco, forest floor, and subtle hints of cedar, balsamic, and gentle spice. On the palate it is medium-bodied, with softened, fine-grained tannins, balanced acidity, and flavours of dried red fruit, earthy herbs, and a delicate savoury undertone. The finish is long, harmonious, and contemplative, reflecting the wine’s maturity and refined character.

    Serving Suggestions
Stand the bottle upright for 24–48 hours before serving to allow any sediment to settle. Carefully and slowly decant the wine to separate it from the sediment. The cork may crumble or fragment on opening, which is entirely normal for a wine of this age. Serve gently decanted at around 17 °C (63 °F), allowing 30–40 minutes for the wine to breathe. Pairs beautifully with roasted game, braised meats, earthy mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses such as Pecorino or Parmigiano Reggiano.

    Note
For wines of this age, the cork may crumble when opening—this is normal and does not affect the quality of the wine. As with many mature wines, individual bottles may show some variation, reflecting their unique ageing journey. The evolved, savoury character of older wines may not appeal to every palate, but for those who appreciate the grace of time, it offers real depth and authenticity.
