Offley 1962 Vintage Port

The 1962 Offley Vintage Port is a wonderful example of a quietly classic year now fully mature and offering graceful, refined drinking.

In the glass, it shows a deep amber-garnet core with a soft brick rim — a clear indication of its decades of bottle ageing. The nose is beautifully evolved, revealing layers of dried cherry, fig and sultana, interwoven with notes of cedarwood, antique leather and warm baking spice. There is a gentle nuttiness beginning to emerge, adding further complexity.

On the palate, the wine is silky and harmonious. The once-firm tannins have softened into a smooth, rounded texture, supporting flavours of dark fruit compote, molasses, cocoa and a touch of orange peel. The sweetness is balanced and poised, leading into a long, elegant finish with lingering spice and dried fruit character.

Fully mature and drinking well now, this is a distinguished vintage ideal for immediate enjoyment. Decant carefully to remove sediment and serve slightly cool.

A fine bottle for collectors of mature Vintage Port or for marking a special occasion from this classic early-1960s year.
