Description
Exclusive to Vintage Wine and Port
The 1969 Palmer Port Colheita is an exceptionally rare single-harvest Tawny Port, aged for more than half a century in seasoned oak casks. From a vintage that has now become a true collector’s treasure, this Colheita shows remarkable maturity, depth and refinement. A superb choice for marking milestone celebrations or as a centrepiece in any fine Port collection. Drink now or over the next decade.
Tasting Notes:
Deep mahogany-tawny with golden highlights. The bouquet is intensely evolved, with aromas of dried figs, dates, roasted chestnuts, caramel, candied orange peel and gentle hints of coffee and spice. On the palate, layers of raisin, toffee, almond and molasses unfold in silky harmony, balanced by a refreshing acidity that gives brightness and lift. The finish is very long, nutty and complex, leaving lingering impressions of dried fruits and fine oak.
Serving Tips & Storage
Colheita Ports are bottled ready to drink and do not require decanting. Serve slightly chilled (12–14°C) to highlight freshness and aromatic complexity. This 1969 Colheita pairs beautifully with roasted nuts, treacle tart, crème brûlée or mature cheeses. Once opened, the wine will keep in excellent condition for several weeks if stored upright in a cool environment. Please store unopened bottles on their side, in a cool, dark space away from heat and light.
