Established in 1784 by Christopher Smith,a prominent wine trader. who later became Lord Mayor of London. He partnered with the Woodhouse brothers with the aim to produce and export fine port wine from the Douro valley to England.
Smith Woodhouse Ports are made from grapes sourced from the Quinta da Madalena vineyard, located in the prime Cima Corgo subregion of the Douro Valley. This vineyard is known for producing grapes with intense flavors and excellent aging potential.
