    Tasting Notes:
    Messias 40 Year Old Tawny Port is a deeply complex and elegant fortified wine, showing a brilliant amber-brown hue with golden reflections. The nose is intensely aromatic, offering layers of dried figs, toasted almonds, orange peel, vanilla, and aged oak. On the palate, it is silky and luxurious, with concentrated flavours of toffee, caramelised nuts, spices, and honey, supported by bright acidity that gives freshness to the long, warming finish.

    Serving & Food Pairing:
    Serve slightly chilled at 14–16°C to highlight its aromatics and balance. Pairs beautifully with crème brûlée, aged blue cheese, or roasted nuts. Also superb as a contemplative after-dinner pour on its own.

    The NV More Than 40 Years Old Tawny Port was bottled in 2018 with a bar-top cork and 120 grams of residual sugar. Of the producer's tawnies this issue, this might well be the most complete of the three—smooth, fresh and lively, with a finely nuanced finish that has molasses and caramel. It is smooth and seductive. This is relatively young for its age. Nicely done. Mark Squires - WIne Advocate July 2018
