Description
The “Castiglione” Barolo is Vietti's take on Barolo classico. The grapes
are sourced from various small vineyards across the Barolo region, with vines aged between 10 and 43 years planted in clay-limestone soils. Each vineyard is vinified separately to highlight its unique terroir characteristics.
Tasting Notes:
Deep ruby with garnet reflections. The nose is explosive, opulent, seductive and striking. Notes of plum, red, ripe black and sour cherries, blackberry, rose petal, and tobacco emerge. On the palate, the flavour is rich and opulent, with notes of dar fruit, alpine herbs, cola and smoky tar. The wine exhibits balanced acidity and fine-grained tannins, leading to a long, elegant finish.
Serving & Food Pairing:
Decant for 2h and serve at room temperature. This Barolo pairs exceptionally well with hearty dishes such as stewed meats, game, roasts, and aged cheeses. Its robust structure and complex flavours complement rich and savoury cuisines.
