Description
Justino’s Madeira Wines, S.A., is one of the oldest Madeira wine producers, going way back to 1870! Yet, despite being one of the oldest, Justino’s is certainly one of the most dynamic producers and exporters of Madeira Wine, internationally known for the quality of its wines.
This 1998 Single Harvest Madeira made by the Tinta Negra variety brings a wonderful sweet expression of Madeira wines, aged for 18 years in old French oak barrels.
Clean and attractive medium deep amber colour. Elegant aroma, rich, ripe on the nose with hints of molasses, crème brulee and walnuts notes. Richly flavoured with dried fruit cake and burnt orange and caramel fruit flavours.
Serving suggestions and food pairing: Excellent with tropical fruits, dark chocolate, honey cake (bolo de mel), rich chocolates desserts, petit fours, pralines, butter biscuits, fruit cake, coffee desserts, strong flavoured cheeses and as a digestive or with coffee. Serve at 16°-18°C
Storage: Madeira wines are indestructible and have the fascinating ability to remain in excellent condition for centuries. Keep your bottle of Madeira wine upright, away from direct sunlight, and it will last forever. Once opened, a bottle of Madeira wine will remain in perfect condition for months, if not years. So, don't hurry to finish the bottle. That is, if you can resist...

"Attractive and bright amber lightly charged. Elegant, pleasant and complex aroma with notes of molasses, creme brulee and walnut. Rich in the mouth with notes of dried fruit cake, candied orange and fruit caramels." Dates and figs on the nose and on the palate. Tastes sweeter – and more gentle – than the Justino's 1995. Then finishes with a raisiny sweetness after very fresh acidity on the mid palate. (JH) (Julia Harding MW)
