Description
Exclusive to Vintage Wine and Port
The 1962 Palmer Port Colheita (150cl) is an extraordinarily rare single-harvest Tawny Port, aged in seasoned oak casks for more than six decades. Presented in a magnum format, this large bottle not only emphasises the prestige of the vintage but also allows the wine to retain freshness for longer once opened. A majestic centrepiece for collectors and a truly memorable choice for milestone celebrations. Drink now or enjoy over the coming years.
Tasting Notes:
Deep mahogany-tawny with golden glints. The bouquet is intensely developed, revealing aromas of dried figs, dates, roasted chestnuts, caramelised orange peel, coffee and fine spice. The palate is rich and layered, with flavours of raisin, toffee, almond and molasses unfolding with great smoothness. Bright acidity keeps the wine vibrant despite its age, leading to an exceptionally long, nutty and elegant finish with lingering notes of dried fruit and seasoned oak.
Serving Tips & Storage
Colheita Ports are bottled ready to drink and do not require decanting. Best served slightly chilled (12–14°C) to bring out freshness and aromatic complexity. This rare 150cl magnum is perfect for sharing on grand occasions, pairing superbly with roasted nuts, treacle tart, fine dark chocolate or mature cheeses. Once opened, the wine will remain in excellent condition for several weeks if stored upright in a cool place. Store unopened bottles on their side, in a cool, dark environment away from heat and light.
