Description
The 2016 Palmer Port Colheita is a fine single-harvest Tawny Port, bottled after extended cask ageing to capture the unique character of the 2016 vintage. Elegant, complex and expressive, it represents excellent value for collectors and a delicious choice for immediate enjoyment, while also having the structure to evolve gracefully over the coming decades. Drink now or cellar until 2040+.
Tasting Notes:
Amber-tawny in colour with golden highlights. The nose is rich with aromas of dried fruits, roasted nuts, caramel, and hints of citrus peel. On the palate, layers of fig, raisin and toffee are balanced by lively acidity and subtle oak spice, giving freshness and depth. Smooth, harmonious and long on the finish.
Serving Tips & Storage
Colheita Ports are bottled ready to drink but will benefit from careful storage. No decanting is required, but the wine should be served slightly chilled (12–14°C) for maximum enjoyment. Pair with roasted nuts, crème brûlée, apple tart or aged hard cheeses. Once opened, this Colheita will keep in good condition for several weeks if stored upright in a cool place. Please store unopened bottles on their side, in a cool, dark space away from heat and light.
