1996 Rivesaltes – Domaine Riveyac

Produced in the sun-drenched vineyards of Roussillon in southern France, the 1996 Rivesaltes from Domaine Riveyac is a traditional Vin Doux Naturel, fortified to preserve natural sweetness and then matured slowly to develop depth and character. Now approaching three decades of age, it shows a fine balance between fruit, freshness and gentle oxidative complexity.

Tasting Notes:
Deep amber in colour with copper highlights, the nose is expressive and inviting. Aromas of dried apricot, orange peel and fig are layered with notes of toasted almond, caramel and soft spice. On the palate it is smooth and rounded, offering flavours of candied citrus, honeyed nuts and sultana balanced by a lively thread of acidity that keeps the wine fresh and vibrant. The finish is warm, elegant and persistent, with lingering notes of toffee and dried fruit.

Serving & Food Pairing:
Serve lightly chilled to enhance aromatic lift and freshness. A natural partner to crème brûlée, fruit tarts, blue cheeses or pâté, and equally rewarding enjoyed slowly on its own.
