Description
The 1962 Palmer Port Colheita is an exceptionally rare single-harvest Tawny Port, matured in seasoned oak casks for over sixty years. From a classic early-1960s vintage, this Colheita has developed extraordinary complexity and finesse, offering a unique opportunity to enjoy a Port that has been patiently nurtured for decades. A true collector’s treasure and an unforgettable gift. Drink now or over the coming years.
Tasting Notes:
Deep mahogany-tawny with golden highlights. The bouquet is richly evolved, showing aromas of dried figs, dates, toasted walnuts, caramelised orange peel, coffee and warm spice. The palate is smooth and multi-layered, with flavours of raisin, toffee, roasted almond and molasses, lifted by bright acidity that provides freshness and balance. The finish is exceptionally long, nutty and elegant, leaving lingering impressions of dried fruit and seasoned oak.
Serving Tips & Storage
Colheita Ports are bottled ready to drink and do not require decanting. Serve slightly chilled (12–14°C) to enhance aromatic complexity and freshness. This 1962 Colheita is superb alongside roasted nuts, treacle tart, crème caramel or mature cheeses. Once opened, the Port will remain in excellent condition for several weeks if stored upright in a cool environment. Please store unopened bottles on their side, in a cool, dark place away from heat and light.
